The Sarcoidosis Awareness Foundation of Louisiana, Inc is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization established in June 2012. Under the auspices of The Sarcoidosis Awareness Foundation of Louisiana, Inc is the Sarcoidosis Awareness Support Group of Greater Baton Rouge established in February 2009. Support group meetings primarily consist of relaxed informal group discussions and professional speakers. The topic of discussion is determined by the concerns and challenges of the members. The decision to participate in the discussion is totally up to each individual. There are no dues or fees for membership. We are a self-help support group whose purpose is to provide an atmosphere where we can all come together and not have to feel so alone. We share common experiences, situations or problems and offer each other a unique perspective that is not available from those who have not shared these experiences. The Louisiana Legislature and the Metro Council of Baton Rouge have recognized and presented
proclamations and resolutions proclaiming April as Sarcoidosis Awareness Month in the state of Louisiana and city of Baton Rouge.
The Mission of The Sarcoidosis Awareness Foundation of Louisiana, Inc is to provide support to patients, support groups, family, friends and caregivers through awareness, education, advocacy, emotional and motivational support and understanding.
